Happy Birthday, Riley!
~Loves to use his strong voice in singing and other loud, or should I say LOUD ways. :-)
~Enjoys legos, guns, jumping on the trampoline, and playing cowboy.
~Is taking violin lessons this year.

"I get the whole cake...!"

"Yum!"

Thank goodness! Now we don't have to answer so many questions using our own brains!

Happy Birthday!

Well, I promised more pictures. So  here they are!
This is the fort we made a couple years back. We found it still standing!
(It's a lot bigger than what you can see in the picture.)

Colby, "helping" repair the fort.

One of the many tepees that other campers had made.

Justin and Laura Bergen came to visit us on Monday.  Apparently their son Braxton really likes Riley's bear...

Laura had to try my unicycle, too.

::Rappelling & Climbing::
Later on Monday we took our rappelling gear and went rappelling on Monkey Rock.
And you do have to be a monkey to get up there!
We had to hike a ways from the cabin to get to Monkey Rock.
Here are some of us up on top.

Here is Abby, just about ready to come over the edge.
She is in control of how fast or slow she falls, so it's not like belaying.
Of course, whoever is at the bottom is ready to grab the rope and pull on it to slow her down if she gets going too fast. We really enjoy being able to zip down the line!

Here is Brady getting ready to come down.

"Hello" from the top!
Brady, climbing back up to the top. (Don't worry, there is sort of a path that you can't see from here, but the first part is not for the faint of heart!

Justin rappelling.
Dad (Craig).

Laura, with Braxton, up on top. :-)
We also had climbing gear this year, so we enjoyed trying something new. We like to find something different to do every year, even though we're at the same cabin every year.
We climb up and rappell back down, then hook up the next person.

Riley climbing up.

Abby.

Close to the top!

I enjoyed the scenery so much! From the top, there were beautiful views.
Hey, who's feet are in the way? Oh, yeah...maybe he needs help getting out...

The mountains to the west.

The heavens declare the glory of God...!
When we first got up to the top, we looked way down over the edge and saw some elk feeding!
I zoomed in close enough for some good shots...

We also saw a couple does around the cabin. We normally don't see so much wildlife, but we wonder if all the Colorado fires have forced them to new feeding grounds.

We also saw a hawk on the road from the campground.

::Unicycling::
We wanted to try out our unicycles on a trail, so we took the trail that was close by. It's called the Raspberry Mountain Trail, and it runs past a little ways from our cabin.

We found our "family tree" along the side of the trail. :-)
That stands for Craig and Esther. :-)

More pics coming later of our drive on Shelf Road!
